A Story in Sri Lanka: Melissa + Josh

It was a bright sunny April day, as it is in Sri Lanka, and family and friends flew into Negombo to celebrate the marriage of Melissa + Josh at the Jetwing Blue.

It was quite an adventure for me too! My first time doing a destination wedding (thanks to the supportive team at Melrish), and my first time in Sri Lanka - the island of elephants, tea estates, soursops, and spice gardens!

The day couldn't have been more perfect! The hot summer afternoon that had us sweating quickly turned into howling rain (dang! I just now realized I don't have a picture for this moment!) while the two friends from school became man and wife at St. Mary's Church. As the evening fell, the groom's father and uncle, sang the newlyweds into their first dance and to the rest of their lives.

Having to know them within a short while, this is what I learned: Melissa + Josh are both kind people who absolutely give their worlds to each other. In many ways, they're quite opposite, but in many more ways, they're quite inseparably the same. Melissa is organized, an accomplished writer, and a supreme friend, while Josh is fashionably late, loves planes, was a mischievous young boy who was bound to find true love in Melissa!

For their story, I'll let the pictures do the talking:
