From UK to DoubleTree Hilton, Al Marjan Island, RAK: Alison + Damon

You know when they say love is destined, fate is sealed, someone’s made for you from the heavens? All of that is true, when you hear the story of my two love birds, Alison and Damon, tying the knot, after 37 years of being apart!

As I write this, I feel soo privileged being part of their history and witnessing something truly remarkable as paths intwine, decades later, under a sunny sky (but not so-humid climate of the) small city in the UAE, Ras Al Khaimah.

I hope I am not exaggerating when I say that there was a pleasant breeze, some happy birds chirping, and the palm trees magnificent as Alison dawned her white wedding dress, and Damon his white linens. Coming to celebrate the two, far away from their home in Wales, were a few of their (7 in total) family members, as the high school sweethearts they said ‘I do’ under the kind eyes of Claire Mountain.

Separating their way in the 80s, these two kids went on with their lives. Alison marrying and Damon waiting. Sadly, but gladly, when Alison’s marriage didn’t work out, Damon was there. With his goofy smile and his ditzy dance, he asked Alison, once a former girlfriend, to be his wife… finally!

Which brings us here to today, this blog post, celebrates their union after 37 delayed years, and 20 long years of waiting, I present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Vaux!

And then comes the moment…

And then my favourite series of Damon’s excitement!
